Greystone Estate.
Greystone Estate was an obvious choice for Taya and Richard’s wedding, as the property is owned by Taya’s family.
“Greystone Estate is a special place to both of us and was the BEST decision. Holding our wedding here made us feel right at home and really allowed the wedding to embody a super relaxed vibe. Also knowing the staff and venue like the back of our hand really helped lower the stress levels leading up to the day!
The best part about Greystone, is the fact we were able to have 32 of our friends and family stay with us on-site for the entire 3 nights.”
CEREMONY
“Our ceremony was electric! Everyone was absolutely buzzing, Monty (our celebrant) even mentioned afterward he’s never seen a crowd more hyped up and vocal during a ceremony.”
RECEPTION
“Our reception was unlike anything we’ve ever seen (quite literally). We worked closely with the head chef at Greystone (shout out to Gary!) for a few months leading up to the wedding. Instead of a singular entrée we opted for 3 ‘snacks’ (because more is more!) and then alternate drop mains that were out of this world.
Afterwards we moved outside for a post dinner drink, whilst the team transformed the entire space into our very own New York Jazz bar, styled to perfection – including a 7-piece jazz band. Everything had a New York impression. The colour palette was black, white and red.
My best friend Rhiannon also runs MAYD By Rhi, so collaborating with her in the 12 months leading up to the wedding on all our signage and stationery was such a special time.”
DETAILS
“Working in fashion, planning my outfit was one of my favourite parts of the process. I got my ceremony dress from Melbourne designer, Jane Hill. It was timeless, comfortable and I felt completely like myself in it.
For my second look, I always dreamed of designing something and I worked alongside Brooke (Design By B) to bring it to life. It was designed entirely around a sentimental Chanel brooch I got from a family friend when she passed away. I still can’t decide which dress I prefer! They both matched each part of the day perfectly.
We were able to zip around the Hunter Valley post ceremony in my Father-in-law’s 1970’s red Alfa Spider – which was so special. The photos and videos from that part of the day are insane and the red car worked perfectly with the colour palette of the day!”
