Wandin Estate.
Rob and Daniel were married in an intimate ceremony at the beautiful Wandin Estate in the Hunter Valley.
“Rob is originally from England, and we had a number of travelling guests. We wanted our wedding venue to represent Australiana. We loved Wandin immediately as it had the eucalypts, the kangaroos and accommodation for 40 of our guests to stay on-site.”
CEREMONY
“There was no wedding party, just us! We walked in together all the way from the top of Wandin Estate to the Eucalypt Grove. Our dear friend who has known us both for 20 years, married us. It was relaxed, personable and intimate.”
RECEPTION
“Our reception was at the Cricketer’s Pavilion, next to the oval at Wandin Estate. We wanted the reception to be fun with lots of time for dancing. Daniel surprised everyone with a piano performance of Chapel of Love.
We had previously been ballroom dancers and wanted a non-traditional wedding dance, so danced the cha cha to Can’t Get Enough of your Love.”
DETAILS
“We wanted autumnal and soft colours. Our flowers were natives in wooden boxes on the tables, with gum garlands down the centre. We continued the eucalypt/gum theme across the place cards and menus.
We steered away from the traditional suit colours and opted for more Autumnal tones. We then matched these with navy ties and native buttonholes.”
