Stonehurst Cedar Creek. 

Mona and Michael had always dreamed of getting married in a vineyard, and the Hunter Valley was the obvious choice. 

“We are both from Sydney and Michael has family in Newcastle. The first venue we viewed in the Hunter was Stonehurst Cedar Creek and we immediately fell in love with the venue. We also wanted a wedding where we could have the reception and ceremony all in one spot to maximise how much time we had to celebrate, and Stonehurst Cedar Creek was the ideal location for this.”

CEREMONY
“Our ceremony was set by the vineyard with the mountains as the backdrop, which was stunning. We wrote our vows together, so we were both on the same page from the get-go. It rained as we finished the ceremony, which resulted in some gorgeous photos.”

RECEPTION
“Our main vision for the reception was to gather all our closest people around long tables in an outdoor setting. We went with shared food plates so we could have a more communal setting, and it felt like a long family dinner with beautiful speeches from our parents and best friends. We had a blast dancing to some great tunes at the end of the night. We are so grateful to have such amazing friends and family we could share our most beautiful day with.

To complement the stunning vineyard and surrounding mountains, we went with blue and white florals with a lot of wild flowers. We continued the theme on the reception tables with green grapes, green limes, and blue tapered candles. So, the theme was basically “summer chic”. We envisioned a day that was both effortlessly elegant and deeply relaxed, with our top priority being that everyone—ourselves included—simply had a wonderful time.”

DETAILS
“I knew I wanted to wear a white Saree to celebrate my Indian heritage. After months of research and 100 different enquiries with designers in India, I found my dream wedding Saree. It was everything I hoped and dreamed for – hands sewn floral appliques on a beautiful, customised organza saree.

Special mention also to Stonehurst Cedar Creek. Yasmin and Kelli were absolutely wonderful to work with. They made our entire planning process and the wedding weekend stress-free. We are so very glad we got married at Stonehurst and would highly recommend newly engaged couples to consider Stonehurst for their wedding venue. Also, the wines they served at the wedding were from their vineyard and were absolutely delicious.”
