Being a makeup artist around the Hunter Valley, Kim knew she wanted something outside of the box for her wedding to Beau. With only 30 adults and 15 kids as guests, something fun and kid friendly was a priority.

“Jokingly, I said to Beau ‘What would you think if we got married at Dullboy’s?’ To my surprise he was all for it! We had our portraits taken before the ceremony in the streets of Maitland. We discovered some amazing laneways and doorways, which made for some really unique portraits.”

CEREMONY
“Our ceremony was held outside in the mini golf area. Our florist did all the styling based on our inspiration pictures…and her work was beyond words! I was familiar with our celebrant from past weddings I had attended. Monty was a non-negotiable for us. We wanted someone with a sense of humour who would make our ceremony a bit of fun. And boy did he deliver!”

RECEPTION
“Our guests got to enjoy amazing gourmet pizzas, arancini balls, sliders and grazing platters. Rather than hire a DJ/band, we opted for entertainment such as ten pin bowling, arcade games and dodgem cars. So much fun! We hope our wedding encourages other couples to break the norm.”

DETAILS
“Beau let me run wild with the colour scheme. I am a sucker for colour, especially pink! Plus, I knew the pinks would look amazing contrasted against the teal colours at Dullboy’s. The venue has a real Palm Springs vibe which we loved!

My amazing sister was our photographer, which made us so comfortable. My dress was a bespoke gown made by Melissa Waite Couture. Seeing the dress made from start to finish was an incredible experience and I loved being a part of the whole design process.”
