CEREMONY
Start your special day in style atop Newcastle’s most picturesque location which features panoramic views of Newcastle, the coastline and the harbour, making it the perfect backdrop and unforgettable venue for you and all your guests. Exclusive access is available from 4pm.

Fort Scratchley is not only a great location for your wedding ceremony, it is also ideal for your wedding reception, meaning your guests don’t have to travel between locations.

RECEPTION
Located just outside the Fort walls, the Function Centre at Fort Scratchley Historic Site is a contemporary, light filled space.

Running along the northern side of the function centre with views over the Cowrie Hole an adjoining deck provides an ideal alfresco option for you and your guests to enjoy pre–dinner drinks and canapés.

Accommodating 120 banquet style or 200 cocktail, the Function Centre offers high ceilings and uninterrupted vision so that the bridal table can be seen from all corners of the room. The fixed dance floor is an added convenience so that as soon as those formalities are over, you and your partner can have your first dance as a married couple, then dance the night away with your family, friends and loved ones.

FOOD & DRINKS
Our in-house catering team, headed up by our Executive Chef, provides couples with quality locally-sourced produce and delicious dining options that can be tailored to suit your needs. With the option of a cocktail reception, three course sharing or plated wedding packages, along with a whole range of optional extras from welcome cocktails to seafood grazing, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to hospitality. A sample of our menu items includes: Kingfish ceviche with coconut, palm sugar, Kaffir lime & chilli oil and; Native pepper berry & saltbush crusted two-point lamb rack on a bed of lemon white bean smash, seasonal greens & Romesco sauce just to inspire your imagination!

Our standard beverage package includes all strengths of beer, a selection of local wines and non-alcoholic beverages, along with locally roasted coffee and premium leaf teas. Upgrade to the Hunter beverage package to sample a wider showcase of the region’s best beers, ciders and wines, including craft favourites Good Folk, Modus, Tilse’s apple cider and Margan rosé.

The team at Fort Scratchley wants your wedding to be as individual as you are. Should your theme be rustic, modern, vintage or whimsical, the stunning views create the perfect backdrop for your vision.

Our purpose-built accessible function centre is a blank canvas for you to bring your dream wedding to life. Bring your own stylist or our team can guide you to a local and experienced theming company to manage every décor detail.
