Tocal Homestead. 

Cristina and Ned work in the wedding industry and have been fortunate enough to have visited many venues within the Hunter region.

“When the time came to choose one for ourselves, we had a mental list of what we really loved. Tocal Homestead was definitely at the top of that list, particularly because it had so many stunning ceremony options. We preferred the large fig trees outside the homestead, but what sold it to us was the wet weather option that was just as stunning (inside the barn) and of course, the delicious food.”

CEREMONY
“Our ceremony took place under the fig tree, just outside the steps of the historical homestead. The simplicity of the ceremony was perfect. Our celebrant knew we didn’t want a long ceremony and had the script tailored perfectly to suit our preferences.”

RECEPTION
“Our reception was beautifully and simply styled with bud vases, custom wooden place cards, and homemade limoncello. The venue itself is so beautiful, and the drop lights allowed it to speak for itself and really took the stress away from us in terms of styling. Sprout even provided the menus, which was a lovely relief on our end. We chose two long tables and decided against having a bridal table. This allowed our bridal party to sit with their families, and we felt the banquet style of catering that we chose was a perfect way to unify and familiarise our guests.”

DETAILS
“There wasn’t a particular theme to the styling. Ned looks amazing in green, so we decided to base the palette on his custom jacket from Rundle Tailoring. The pastel orange was chosen to pay homage to my upbringing, as I was raised on a citrus farm, and ivory was a traditional choice, chosen to complement my bridal attire.

I loved that my gown was two gowns in one. It was such a fun moment to be able to take off the overskirt and enter the reception with a new look. Also, it made for so many beautiful and varied photos.

Aleisha from Sprout catering made the planning process so easy, throughout the meetings and email correspondence, she made sure all our questions were answered promptly and was so helpful in organising the day. It really took the stress out of planning.”
