“Shoal Bay is less than an hour away from Newcastle (where we/the vast majority of our guests live) – it is a beautiful part of the world and was far enough away from home to feel like a holiday, but close enough to be convenient.
We found Salt at Shoal Bay on Instagram and were instantly obsessed with it (Britt especially). Once we had confirmed that it was available on our chosen weekend, we started to build the rest of our wedding around that location.“
“Having The Wedding Designers on board to handle the styling and florals was such a weight lifted. We would recommend their talented team to anyone in a heartbeat! They took so much stress away from us on the day and the way they transformed the ceremony location in particular was nothing short of incredible – everything was STUNNING!
The ceremony went by so quickly – the whole day was a whirlwind, but we both agree the ceremony went by particularly fast. Thanks to our celebrant, Monty King, our personalised ceremony was relaxed, fun and just seriously special overall. We felt every emotion all at once. We were also blessed with perfect weather (which is something I (Britt) was particularly worried about in the lead up because we wouldn’t have been able to get married at the Native Flora Gardens if it was raining – we had a Plan B, but our hearts/minds were set on the Native Flora Gardens).
It’s interesting, people often say the weather is the one thing you can’t control on your wedding day, but there are actually countless things outside of your control – you just have to take the day as it comes and accept that (despite all of your meticulous planning) everything won’t go exactly to plan, but it will be absolutely perfect anyway.“
“The Whitesands at the Shoal Bay Country Club had only recently been finished when we enquired about it – we loved the feel of it from the moment we stepped inside (and the staff were so friendly & welcoming!) It just suited our theme perfectly – especially once The Wedding Designers had worked their magic!
Our theme was Coastal/Romantic. We were able to tie in Luke’s Italian heritage in different ways – for example, our seating chart reading “Find your seat & Bon Appetito!”, Luke’s Nonna read out a poem in Italian at the ceremony and we had limoncello shots at the reception – those were a big hit!”
