Bridie grew up in Maitland area, and both her and Tom breathe a big exhale when they return to visit the wide-open spaces of the area.

“We are both attracted to beauty in nature, so we knew we wanted something outdoors amongst trees for our wedding.”

CEREMONY
“Our ceremony was held in a field of Cottonwood trees next to the river in a nearby property owned by family friends. We kept the ceremony very simple, with champagne on arrival and my brother playing music. Our son Henry, was our ring bearer and stole the show.”

RECEPTION
“My family home in Bolwarra provided the perfect setting for a reception with a big marquee across the front lawn framed by my parent’s beautiful garden and house.

The band was set up under fairy lights on the front porch, and the dance floor was on the grass under festoon lights next to the marquee.

We had a sit-down banquet dinner and brilliant speeches from family and friends.”

DETAILS
“We decided to keep styling simple, letting the green spaces we were in speak for themselves. We sourced and made a lot of things ourselves. Our styling theme was simple, classic, and understated with a green and white colour palette.

All our vendors were amazing to work with and contributed great energy for a relaxed and fun day. We had a lot of help from family and friends to pull it together, from gardening, harvesting olive branches, moving around furniture to making desserts. It was a real collaborative affair.”
